    Itinerary

Day 1Nairobi to Amboseli National Park

We depart Nairobi in the morning and drive south through Masai country to the plains below Mt. Kilimanjaro where Amboseli is situated. After a picnic lunch en route we enjoy an afternoon game drive in the park. With the majestic backdrop of Mt. Kilimanjaro, spectacular displays of wildlife – lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, cheetah, buffalo and various plains’ game, postcard perfect pictures are almost always guaranteed.
Dinner & overnight at the camp.

    Day 2Amboseli Full Day

We spend the enjoying the Amboseli through early morning and afternoon game drives.
Lunch will be back at the camp and you have the option of visiting the nearby lodge for a swim and cold drink or nearby Masai community to experience their culture and way of life.

The waters from Mt. Kilimanjaro drain under lava flows and surface in Amboseli, creating a green belt of swampland amidst dusty plains. At 329 sq km Amboseli is a small park and lacks the profusion of animal species found in the Mara, but the landscape provides limited cover so we have better chances of seeing some of the larger predators. Buffaloes, lions, gazelles, cheetahs, wildebeest, hyenas, jackals, warthogs, Masai Giraffes, zebra, baboon, and waterbuck are all present in the park.
Dinner & overnight at the camp.

Day 3Amboseli to Lake Nakuru Park

After an early breakfast, we depart Amboseli viewing game en route as we proceed back towards Nairobi and further down the Escarpment to the floor of the Great Rift Valley where Lake Nakuru National Park is situated. En route we enjoy a picnic lunch arriving in the late afternoon.

The park covers 180 sq km and is home to warthogs, waterbuck, buffaloes, reedbucks, and the occasional leopard. White and black rhinos were introduced to the park some years ago and the park has also retained its reputation as an ornithologists’ delight with more than 400 species of bird found here. We spend the night at a campsite outside the park.
Dinner & overnight at the camp.

    Day 4Nakuru to Masai Mara

Early morning breakfast before venturing into Lake Nakuru national park for a morning game drive. We return to the campsite and depart towards Narok town and Mara with packed lunches. Arrive Mara in the late afternoon and proceed on a brief game drive before exiting to the camp for dinner & overnight.

Day 5Full Day in Masai Mara

The following day will be spent in the game reserve; game viewing and absorbing the amazing sceneries. Optional activities include; visiting a Masai village. You may also visit a nearby lodge for a refreshing drink or swim. The ultimate action here is without doubt the annual wildebeest exodus in July and August when millions of these grass eaters move north from the Serengeti in search of lusher grass before turning south again in October.

Balloon trips (optional) are an entirely outstanding way of seeing the savannah plains and the wildlife after which you come back down for a beautiful champagne breakfast.
